A few points from the seminar in Tallinn

Here are notes from Minna's memo on the seminar. How do you all feel about organizing simultaneous breakfast tables on world FT's day?

What could be shared using the network?

  • Campaign ideas and experiences (learning from what has been done, both in good in and in bad)
  • Internet videos, photos
  • Banana suits, other objects that could be produced for a cheaper price in big quantities
  • Informative text, brochures (that could be translated easily)
  • Joint project, simultaneous events in different countries (give an image of FT as a global movement)

Agenda of the first contact persons' meeting in fall 2008 should include:

- Breakfast table 2009 plans

- Plans for future project applications

- agreeing on the future of the "international board"

- discussing mission and vision of Fairtrade action network (relation to FLO and different other stakeholders)

How do you promote Fairtrade?

We decided to start this blog after a great seminar in Tallinn in June 2008. Many good ideas and interesting projects were brought up during these three days, and it would be a pity not to make anything concrete out of it! The Fairtrade Action Network web site still is operational, but as we have experienced some technical problems, we thought it would be easier to start a new platform, easily accessible by everyone.

Whether you have taken part in the Fairtrade Action Network seminars or not, you are welcome to use this blog to communicate with other FT enthusiasts, share campaign examples and, why not, launch common projects.

I will soon post a message summing up what has been evoked at the seminar in terms of future cooperation.
